A grid-tie system is a solar system connected to the main utility grid. The system collects energy from the solar panels and directs it to a single or multiple inverters. The inverter converts that DC power from the panels to AC power which can be used for consumption. The inverters also prioritise energy from the solar panels and will only draw energy from the utility grid where the demand is greater than what is available from the solar supply. Even when it draws from the grid it is able to mix the two power sources, which means it will only draw the absolute minimum from the grid. 

This system is ideal for commercial use where operations are run during the day as the return on investment is shortest and savings are greatest.

This system does not include battery backup but can be used in conjunction with a generator back up.
